The MorMe Adhesive Clip was created to provide a harness free option to those using the MorMe Original Packer.
It was brought to our attention that many other packer attachment methods are time consuming, expensive, unreliable and not all that comfortable - often requiring large amounts of adhesive, regular shaving of the entire pubic area, with visible sticky tapes and tabs that peel away at the corners.
And so began the process of creating a solution to these problems. We already had the attachment system for the Original Soft Packer in place, so we knew we wanted to create something that worked in conjunction with this - so that users could choose between wearing their packer with a harness or the clip at any given time.
Utilising the unique MorMe attachment system means that rather than potentially damaging the prosthetic by applying a messy adhesive directly to the silicone itself; the user attaches the packer to the clip, a small amount of adhesive is then applied to the back plate of the clip which is then adhered to the skin. This means that only the clip is making contact with adhesive, negating long winded cleaning regimes and thus prolonging the lifespan of the packer.
While the clip is more than strong enough to bear the weight of the packer, it is small enough to sit hidden behind the tab of the packer, making it invisible once the packer is in place. This also means that minimal shaving of pubic hair is required to attach the clip.
The adhesive is sweat and shower resistant, meaning the wearer can go about their daily life without the worry of their packer coming loose, and once in place, wearers can enjoy 24+ hours of harness free, secure packing.
Applying the clip:
First, a small area the size of the clip must be shaved from the pubic area. This will maximise contact of the adhesive to the skin, which will create a super strong bond between the skin and the clip.
Making sure both the skin and clip are clean, dry and free from any oils (an alcohol wipe works great here!), apply 3-5 drops of adhesive to the skin and then the clip, and using a cotton bud or finger spread the adhesive out ensuring there is a thin, even layer of adhesive covering the entire flat surface of the clip.
After a minute or so, the adhesive will become tacky - it is then ready to press against the body.
The adhesive is pressure activated, meaning that it is necessary to apply as much pressure as comfortably possible to initially attach the clip - once it is attached, it will stay in place until an adhesive remover is used.
Derma-Tac adhesive works best with the clip - unfortunately we are unable to stock this, however it is widely available online from places such as smooth-on.com - remember you will need to buy the remover too!
A little goes a really long way, so a small bottle of each should last a while.
